Q: I want to find out the best techniques new car salesman use when selling there cars.?
A: Lying, lying, lying, lying, lying, lying, lying, lying, lying, lying, lying, lying, lying, lying, lying, lying, lying!!!
Q: How/where can I get a list of the best selling/most popular cars in a specific area of the U. S.?
We plan on moving to western North Carolina (Asheville area.) Since we need to buy a new car anyway, we'd rather buy one that's better suited to a mountainous area as opposed to the flat landscape of our current home area, south Florida. The top 10, or 5, or even 3 best selling and/or most popular cars (not SUV's, trucks, vans, etc.) would be a great help. Thanks!

A: In all my years in the car industry (over 10 working), the only place I have seen such info that labels out what type, style, color, engine size, etc that sells per zone within the USA was from Manheim. They own majority of the auctions in the USA that car dealers buy from and they also own Dent Wizard, a paintless dent repair service. They track all cars bought, sold and repaired and have stats on what is where.
I use to have access to their computer banks years ago to track colors per regions as I do custom paint work and repair and wanted to see which colors I would mainly need to focus on. But even that was a hacked insight as normally only dealers have such access to Manheim.
Not sure if they would share this info or even have it on their web site. But you can surf around it.

Q: if I take a job selling new & used cars what type car dealership is the best to work at?
A: A GM dealer. GM makes a lot of cars like Chevy, Saturn, GMC, Buick, and some other ones that I can't think of. Chevy would be the best though. Everyone likes cars that don't suck a lot of gas, and Chevy makes a few. Like the Aveo and Aveo5.
Q: What is the best way to sell a car? (price, ease of selling, etc) To a used car dealer? New car dealer?
I have a 2004 Nissan 350z grand touring. I have had it for less than a year and don't need a car anymore. I still owe a significant amount to my financing company. I know selling on my own on ebay or something has the best price but I want to sell it now and have ease of transferring over the financing and such. Any idea on the amount to expect? Should I sell to a random high-end used car dealer? Or a nissan dealership?
A: You'll get the most money for it by selling it privately. If you trade it in at a dealer, you'll only get the wholesale price for it. Here are two links you may find useful.
Q: If I decide to sell cars, what should i sell (new vs. used) and what type of dealership would you suggest?
I'm thinking about getting a job selling cars and want to know the best place to start as a beginner? Used cars, new cars? A large dealership or a small? I'm thinking new car sales due to needing to know my product and I'm also thinking a large dealership would be better due to all their exposure ie, advertising? Like I said this is just what I think and would appreciate your input as an experienced sales consultant.
A: I am not really a car salesman but I buy and sell cars on ebay and I also thought about becoming a salesman for a dealership so I will offer you my thoughts based on that.
Used car salespeople are among the most hated professionals. Mostly because people are not reasonable about their expectations of a used car but also because there have been and still are quite a few used car salespeople who don't really care about screwing their customers.
And you also have to know a lot more about cars to start with since you will have to sell a lot more varied selection of brands and models.
As far as signing on with a dealership to sell new cars, make sure you believe in the brand you will sell. Sales (cars and anything else) are made through relationships that you develop with your customers and it is a lot easier to develop those if you don't change brand on a regular basis.
Next you need to check out what deal they offer you to start with. Will they pay you a salary when you start or will you be on straight commission right off the bat? If there is a salary, how long will it last? Check out benefits too just as with any other job you would consider.
Last but not least, make sure you understand cars in relation to the area you live in. For example, if there was a Mercedes Benz dealership in your country town of 20,000 souls, even if those cars are great, you couldn't expect to sell too many of them.
I have heard and read that women do pretty good in that business even though I can't say have seen that many of them in dealerships... Who knows?
Hope that helps and good luck.
Q: What would be the best decision regarding re-saling a 2007 new car. Selling thru the newspaper or the dealer?
Im looking for a cheaper note, I jus bought a new car about 7 months ago. Im sure I won't get what I owe but I want to get rid of the expensive car note and somehow be able to drive something cheaper. What should I do?
A: You have to ask yourself two questions? How fast do you want to get rid of it?
How much am I willing to pay to do it?
if you put it in the paper, you will reach a lot less people. Also most people will look at a 07 for sale in the paper and wonder what's wrong with it. So if you decide to put it the paper I would be sure to add a reason. Like " can no longer afford due to change in employment" or something to make the reader think that you are motivated to sell.
For the second question- you will get a lot more attraction from a car lot but most will charge you a percentage for consigning, if your willing to pay it then this would be a faster option. Also consider that for an 07 model most people will have to finance and maybe you can find a consign dealer that offers assistance. Good luck I hope this helps!!
Q: What type of new car dealership can you make the most money selling cars?
I am a very good salesman. I am about to look for a job at a new car lot. I have never been a car salesman, but have alot of experience buying cars. I'm not looking for opinions on car salesmen, only facts about which is the best dealerships to work for. Ex. Volume dealers etc? Toyota or Chevrolet? Also what should I expect out of my commission salary??
A: If i were to re-enter the biz, Honda, and GM would get a resume and letter. And with VW's 50-state deisels hitting the shores for the 2009 model year, i bet you could move a few 49 mpg Jettas.
GM has the ultimate product line-up...from 60k Corvettes to the under 13k, 36mpg, Aveo. Honda (own one) flat out makes the best cars in at least 4 segments according to every SINGLE word ever written about them.
You should earn commissions in the 25% of the overage range. And a not exceptional 10 cars per month should earn you overr 50k per year.
Q: I was denied to buy a new car with a work visa?
I have a working visa and a social security. My brother co-signed for me. Credit history was not a problem but I was denied until I am able to obtain my permanent residency. Is this true? So- does this mean I have to wait for 3 years until my green card has been approved? Does this applies to all dealers? This is one of the famous Japanese cars---and best selling cars in the US.
I asked if I can buy a preowned car and payable in 3 years if they're scared of me going home after 3 years- but they still can't approve with a work visa status only...
Thanks a million
Thank you so much for some of you who gave me an insight on what to do. My brother thought about personal loan and credit union but both have high interest. I will try to visit other dealers and see how will they take it new or preowned. Thank you.
A: That's dealer policy. go to another dealer selling the same car and they very well might sell it to you.
I don't know why the do that, it's probalby an insurance thing.
Q: I am selling my car for about $10,000, what is the best way to get a new car? Buying or leasing?
A: it depends on what you want to do. if you want to get a new car every 3 years , and your going to keep it in a garage where it can't be scratched and your going to drive about 250 miles per week or less, and your seeking a payment of maybe $80, or 100, or 120 less than buying, then maybe leasing.
I've leased before and I feel like i got ripped off. If i would have just paid an extra 80 bucks per month that whole time and paid on it for like 18 more, or maybe 24 more months (don't remember) i would have owned the car. as it was i traded it in and owed about 300$ as some goodbye fee BS. didn't even go over the miles. oh, and mine got keyed so that cost me an extra 500$.
I won't lease another car.
if your going in with 10k then buy something. that makes a good downpayment
Q: What is the best way to sell a new or used car?
I have been selling vehicles for about 8 months now and it seems the last 2 months it has been an uphill battle.
A: its hard to sell any car or truck right now,i have real good luck from running them in our local paper and selling them that way,at least the callers i get are local and can come see and drive the vehicle,i sell more that way than by advertising on them, and its usually free, good luck.

best answer gets the points
I did look it up first you idiot. I'm not a mean person but don't you think people get on here for answers not to get told that they can look it up.
A: Why don't you try doing a search for "Number of new cars sold in U.S. 2009"? Or 2008 if the 2009 totals aren't available yet.
Q: How to get the best out of selling my car?
(In Malaysia) My car currently have a left over hire purchase amount of RM60000, and i wanted to sell it off for around RM70000(Price is not the issue). The problem is that i'll be leaving this country in a year or two, and the commitment of paying for this car's installment of RM1000 per month is a heavy burden for me, because i want to save money to come to Australia to work and stay here. So there's three options that i can choose before i left Malaysia in a year or two, first option is not to sell off the car until i'm about to left my country. Second option is buy a cheaper new car with bank loan(around rm700 per month). Third option is to buy a second-hand car with bank loan(around rm300 per month). Which options will allow me to save the most, given the fact that i'll have to sell off the car when i leave.
A: first have it completely detailed, 2nd take an ad out in your local newspaper and thrifty nickle 3rd find a local empty lot or store on a main street who will let let you park your car there and leave it there.... unless you're needing to drive it while you're trying to sell it if thats the case get 3 for sale signs from your local wal mart and place them in the back window and both sides.... using a primary color that will attract attention. This may take a a few months but you state that your not leaving for a year or two so you'll have plenty of time to do this, this will also get you the most money out of your car.
Q: What is the best way to time the selling of your car and buying a new one so they can happen simultaneously?
A: If you are financing, before you do anything get a pre-approval for financing, pre approvals are good for 30 days in most cases. Credit Unions can be a great source, but you need to shop them as well. If you are going to a dealer, don't tell them that you have your own financing until the contract/P&S is signed, this is a profit center for them and can affect what they are willing to sell the car for.
If you are purchasing a new vehicle, that is easy, have a deal negotiated first with a manager’s signature that is good for the current month, this does not have to be on an exact vehicle, just one with the options that are desired. Don't pick a color that is difficult to locate. If it is a used vehicle, that you will be looking for, once you have a customer and deposit, you can doe the same with the dealer and make sure that you write on the contract, deposit fully refundable if the sale of your vehicle does not get delivered.
Now if you want to take the easiest route, sell you car, rent a car for a week and locate your new one. I know the rental will cost monies, but this is where so many people go wrong, they worry more about the cost of the rental than the gain on the sale of their vehicle and the ability to not be under the gun when negotiating a replacement vehicle. If you go to a dealer, do not tell them that you sold your car and need another. You just made your life more difficult.
Hope this help
Good Luck Mark
