I live in MN so you know you need 4 wheel drive. Any how one day I was driving home and went in the snow . And the light came on and said. check fluids. But that was 2 weeks before. I check the oil and everything it was fine. And today I check the oil It said add. Before it was a crack in something. Im not going to drive it til I add more oil. I know this is bad for the car. Do you think it is a part going out ? It was to the shop 3 weeks ago.
the light for the oil didn't come on
A: Can we get any less information about your problem? You never told us the type of car, the engine, how many miles, Or any other critical information. American engines leak oil. it doesn't mean that there is a serious problem. Add the 1 quart of oil. fill the tires up and drive it.
Q: Dodge Caravan - What does it mean when the speedometer goes all the way to the right before starting?
When we turn the key to start our car (a Dodge Caravan) the gauges (speedometer) go all the way from the left, to all the way to the right, back to all the way to the left, then they light up. Once the gauges light up, we have to turn the key in the ignition to the off position, and then turn the ignition back on and the car will attempt to start.
Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks for your help.
A: I thought it was just what dodge caravans do. This is what mine does:
When the car is just sitting there, everything off, all the gauges needles are all the way to the right. The car has to be running for the needles to move back to the left, or to where they should be regarding what they are measuring. In other words, you get in the car and it always looks like you have a full tank of gas, until you start the car, bummer!
Bought my caravan new, and drove it 10 years.

Q: How different is an 09 Dodge Dakota engine from the previous year models?
I'd like to put a cold air intake into my 09 Dodge Dakota, but apprently its too new for many after market parts and they only go till 08...
is there a big difference in the engine or will an 08 intake work in my 09?
A: just some advice ,but for now id leave it like it is,altering the way it is now can affect the warranty on it and you,ll be needing the warranty in the future,i think id leave it like it is for now, even if you did add one to it ,i don't think it would help you much on that one, good luck
Q: How much would a 1995 Dodge Caravan be worth with no transmission,no struts and needing a new paint job?
My mom is trying to sell her Dodge Caravan. It needs a new transmission, and new paint job, and new struts. How much would it be worth selling for?
A: unfortunately for you, thanks to Cash for Clunkers, dismantlers are not exactly begging for cars right now. They got a ton of Caravan's through the program. You might be able to give it away if they come get it. But there is no value to the car in its present condition.
Q: How can i make a Dodge 2500 Cummins Turbo Diesel start in the cold besides plugging it in?
I have seen youtube videos of people who left their truck in the snow and they weren't plugged in but still start right up. How is that possible when the Dodge i'm talking about wont start in 60 degree weather?
The truck is a 94' model with about 250,000 miles.
A: The engine may not have the compression or fuel pressure necessary, timed properly, or their is something wrong with the glow plugs. This truck has two fuel pumps. And primer, and glow plugs. The injector pump has high mileage, and the fuel pressure it it developes, is soo high normally, well, don't get into testing it without training. A diesel fuel leak can cut your skin, or worse, downright unhealthy. Thousands of pounds of pressure are measured. If the glow plugs aren't working properly it will make a big difference. They also get older, but won,t through a code that says, 'older and less efficient'. Code 911. Their renewed. Or cleaned up. The injectors are special calibration, they are replaced.
Is the Starting system fast enough? Two batteries are for starting system compression of two engines. Diesel engine and injector pump need high compression(normal) and must deliver specified fuel pressure. I remember some had problems, new, with these: PRIMER, AUX. PUMP, TIMING GEAR,INJECTOR PUMP, RECALL ON MANY PROBLEMS. SoRRY my one handed caps key is terrible. Good truck, but it is not like a big commercial application. I remember then the warranty was 10 months or 100,000 miles.
Test fuel pressure, before the injector pump, and Have your full available rail fuel pressure tested, by a professional diesel(small or large engine)) mechanic. AND YOUR ENGINE compression also. You may need to get a cold start kit from a store. Or a fuel additive.
Have a diesel tech. (truck mechanic) test it. or in a last effort, bring it to a dealership, at one time, the standard for Chrysler product service. But call around for one that has a tech. who also has Cummins Turbo Diesel specialized training. All Chrysler(Dodge) dealerships are required to have this type of service, or no diesel deliverys to them. In 94, anyway. With two good batteries, why not run your plug using a transformer, 120vAC to 12vDC, I'm sure it is already available, run it hot, key off only. Or all the time? I really thought that truck was good, pricey but good for light commercial use. Not cross country. A bit much smoke. Stick to a Dodge shop. They have larger exhaust hoses. Or any Cummins shop. Good bye.
Q: What is the song from the dodge charger mans last stand commercial?
The commercial dodge makes for their chargers (man's last stand) is amazing. I like the orchestral theme in the end, anyone know which song it is?
A: the best place to find any song used in a TV commercial is at What Is That Song in their TV Commercials section http://www.whatisthatsong.net/commercials/commercials.html
Q: How do i teach myself to dodge better at home? And where can i take boxing lessons in Euclid,oh?
Before , i wanted to learn how to punch faster and i found out that an easy and fast way by using wrist weights. Now i want to learn howta dodge and where to take boxing lesson.
A: I feel you. This is something that I would love to work on more too. The problem is, the only way to really learn to slip punches is to train with another person. But you can train your muscles to do the motions of dodging by yourself. Buy a Maize bag and hang it from a place where you have plenty of room for it to swing. This will teach you to get your head out of the way. Use your legs and your abdomen to slip the punch. Dont bend with your back, dip down and turn your whole frame. And learn to move just enough to slip the bag/ punches. Too much movement is a waste and you won't be prepared for the next punch or for you to counter. And here's an idea also, find a friend that's willing to throw some punches at you. It will be fun for them and great practice for you. Use a mouthpiece for when you take hits to the face (you will) and have the friend start out slow and light until you get better. Invite anyone who visits you to put on some gloves and punch you, male or female, doesn't matter bc you won't be punching back. Don't punch back though otherwise they won't want to help you anmore!
Q: How does the Dodge Owner Loyalty program work when buying a new car?
My wife and I are looking to replace my 12 yr old car with a new one. Most likely a Dodge. We especially like the lifetime powertrain warranty that they offer.
One dealer asked if we owned a Dodge vehicle and I told him that we did but not any longer. My question is this - Does the dealer verify that you actually own the brand they are selling? If so, how?
Thanks!
A: That is just a sales gimmick. They will probably just take your word for it and give you the discount. Maybe you will have to fill out some form or something. The only way to find out is to visit the dealership and ask.
Q: Is it possible to change the transmission on a Dodge Charger from semi-automatic to a full manual?
I' am basically saying if it's possible to use a transmission from a Dodge Challenger SRT8 and install it on a Dodge Charger R/T. Thank you.
A: if you have the donor car yes.
you would have to change the trans, pedals, rear end, axles, drive shaft, and out hub bearings. then get a Diablo Predator and take it to a tuner to work out the electrical kinks.
it has been done a couple of times.
Q: What cylinder compression should a 98 dodge neon dohc be reading?
On a 98 dodge neon DOHC how much PSI should the compression be reading as?
I just replaced the head gasket during a cylinder head rebuild and I got 122, 120, 115, 120. The block is oem stock.
A: if its running right it should have at least 145-150 on it ,anything less and its either got problems or a crack in the head,or even a blown head gasket, you got problems with that one maybe with the valves or in a head gasket, good luck.
Q: What is the difference between a Dodge Grand Caravan and a Plymouth Grand Voyager?
I had a caravan and just bought a voyager. Can't tell any difference! I know Plymouth/Dodge is the same corp, so whats the big difference in vehicles?
I beg to differ about the gas guzzling! My Dodge Grand Caravan got pretty decent gas mileage. Plus, it's not an option to put 3 kids (2 in car seats) in a tiny little fuel economic car! But thanks for your input!
A: just little things like the look of the grille and emblems,. Nothing really. The grille is the big change.
Q: What should I add to my 1968 dodge dart convertible gt 440 slant six?
What should I add to my 1968 dodge dart convertible gt 440 slant six?
Please provide a url(website) of where i can buy this item for the lowest price. It does have rust and dents and has a engine from a 1970 plymouth duster.
A: theres not any performance parts anymore for the slant 6 engine as it hasn't been made for many years, there used to be a 4bbl. intake for that engine but I doubt you can find one now.
Q: What is good engine for my 69 dodge charger?
Does anyone know an engine that
Would be good for my 69 dodge charger. A list would be very helpful.
A: First off due you want to keep it stock or custom. Second do you care about gas mileage and performance or do you want a resto-rod with all new up to date systems. You can use any of the following engines for either construction. 426 Hemi, 383, 440, 318 are all good engines for what you want. Third do you want to race it? I prefer the resto-rod setup. I would use a 440 fuel injected and possibly with a turbo. This gives you good power as well as better gas mileage then came with the original engine. If cost is involved go with the 318 fuel injected and add the turbo. This can be a real screamer. The 318/340/360 engines are available just about everywhere. The 440 is harder to find and was first made as a truck engine for Dodge trucks. The 383 was the same but is harder to work on. Both give good performance. You can contact MoPar Parts and they will help you. There are after market items you can purchase that will also help performance. Have you thought about what type of transmission you wish to use? I would suggest the older 727 torque flight, it would work well with any of the engines and very strong. Also one of the newer 6 speed manual are quite good with a newer shifter kit added. If you go with the manual don't forget the pistol grip shifter. What ever you decide remember MoPar FOREVER!!!!
