A: right now get 1qt of lucas transmission conditioner and put it in/dont worry about the level just get it in there/trans is not going to low get the lucas in it

Q: How Hard is it to install running boards/ nerf bars on a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500?
I just bought a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 and it did not have Running Boards on it. I found some on E-bay that I would like to order and when looking at the underneath of the truck I am not sure where they mounted. I am getting chrome nerf bars, any idea how hard they are to mount. Thank You

I just bought a 2006 Ram 1500 truck and the drivers side seat cushion (foam) needs to be replaced. My butt sinks to the left side.
I can replace the foam myself. Anyone know where I can buy the foam online? Do auto parts stores carry these things?
A: this is the same foam that is used in all upholstery whether it be home or auto. You can even buy it at places like WallyWorld and Hobby Lobby.
Now, if you are not experienced at upholstery it may be simpler to take it to a shop. you are looking at less than $100 and loss of use of the vehicle of about 4 hours. The '06 has had a nasty tendency to split the left side of the drivers seat including the leather in the Larimie. This would be the right time to have that reinforced on the back side when they replace the padding.
Dodge wants $400 for a replacement lower seat so use that as a benchmark.

my truck is a 2006 ram 4.7L 4x4 with 20" wheels. I live in michigan and can have alot of snow at times. just curious how this truck is in snowy conditions with those stock 20's.
A: i own a repair shop,and a friend of mine has a 04 model that goes pretty good and we live in Tennessee,and we really didn't get that much snow last year to challenge it,but id say it would go really good,and besides it mostly level up there anyway,i took lessons at gm tech division up there,and i had no problems going in it,good luck,,i hope this help,s.

I bought a used 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7L Hemi and it did not have the owners manual with it. Any idea what kind of oil the manufacturer recommends and about how many quarts of oil does it need. Any help would be appreciated, Thank You
A: most cars today use 5w30 but really you can use pretty much what ever you want most cars the oil weight is listed under the hood eithe ron dip stick or where one adds oil and buy at leat six or seven quarts it neve rhurts to have too much an dmost any parts store knows what it shoul dtake and how many you need as well
Q: How to wire Horn to Brakes in an 2006 Dodge Ram 2500?
My friend is getting married tomorrow and we want to wire his horn to his brakes for when he drives off from the wedding. He has an 06 Dodge Ram 2500. I know that you splice a wire between the brake switch and the horn switch, but im not too familiar with his truck so if anyone has specific instructions on exactly how to accomplish this that would be great.
A: a safer and easier way to do this is to get a horn, put 2 feet of wire on the horn ground side and and 2 feet on the power side. plug the power side wire into the trailer brake light harness(hook up to trailer brakelight power wire ) by the hitch and bolt the ground to the frame and zippie tie up the horn under the truck close to the hitch. this whole process takes about 1-3 minutes.

2006 Dodge Ram, heat or air does not come out of the vents very strongly with the fan on high. Dealer says it is the circulation housing and will fix it for $700.00...the part is $50.00. Anyone know about this?
A: it is underneath the dash about four inches into the passenger side... to replace this you are going to have to remove the dashboard . If your not good, don't do it...

A: Try inside drivers side door where the other specifications are. The code wil be something like PJ4. If not go to your local dealership with your vin number (last nine numbers). It only takes a second to give you an answer. Hope this was helpful.

I have an 06 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins with a 2" leveling kit which has 315/70r17 tires and stock rims. What size wheel spacers can I use without losing my turn radius to scrubbing?
A: Really you should not have any rubbing with the leveling kit and those tires on the stock rims. I ran larger tires than that on stock rimes and never had any rub. Are they rubbing now?

I am getting ready to change the oil in my 2006 dodge ram with a 5.7 liter hemi. I was not sure how many quarts it used.
A: It takes 7 when you change the filter. first time I changed mine, I bought a 5 quart jug, poured a little in the filter and the rest in the engine. Pulled the dipstick, no oil on it. Quickly checked the Owner's manual, hmmm 7 quarts, who'd thunk it?

A: take a piece of piano wire and slide it through the weather stripping and body slide it along the edge of the window. Go all the way around while pulling the rubber out towards you. once the rubber is out the window is also free.

2006 dodge ram led tail lights blink normal then blink fast? they are sonar brand..and they blink normal for about 4 or 5 blinks then after that they blink real fast..but the emergency flashers work normal..do i need a heavy duty relay..if so where exactly is it..i cant seem to find it
A: the flasher unit is going bad is whats causing it to flash fast like that it should be located in the fuse panel on that one,replace it with a heavy duty one and it will slow the flashes down some and wont allow it to start flashing fast like that again,if you have added a trailer hitch to it that will cause the lights to flash like that also,but adding the heavy duty flasher will slow them down in either case,good luck.
