Q: Can a 2000 Honda Civic handle a HID kit without a relay harness?
I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX and plan on installing an 8000k HID kit. I have researched around and it is not necessary to have a relay harness, but there is a chance of making the stock harness stop working. For anyone that owns a 97-00 Civic, can your stock harness handle the HID kit without a relay harness?
A: Hey friend, an H.I.D kit consists of a set of ballasts (bulbs), wiring harnesses and ignitor boxes. In order for the kit to properly work on your vehicle, you have to have all three componets. There is no way around it. If you try to hardwire it into your current headlight harness, you can potentially fry your electrical system. Even cars like BMW, Benz, Range Rover whatever that have HIDs or Xenon lights have those three componets. Your working with your car here. Why shortcut something and risk destroying your project and transportation? Hope this helps happy tuning.
Q: is 100 k miles to much for a 2000 honda civic?
i want to buy a honda civic and i found a 2000 for $4400 with 100k miles. is that to 4400 to much to spend?
A: no that's fine i would pay it for that and the mileage is above average but not to worry its better to buy a high mileage car than a very low mileage car it will have more life in it it will live longer because more wear happens in a car when it is cold so doing all those miles a lot of it was when the car was warm and there wouldn't be as much wear as if an old lady had it doing 5 miles a week for her shopping and did half that mileage it should be a good little run around i would try get a test drive and if it drives fine no noises or bad vibrations then it should be ok up to you really but that's what im saying good luck with it.
Q: If my fan on my 2000 honda civic doesnt turn on, Is it broken?
I have a 2000 honda civic ex and when the Temperature is really hot the temp gauge needle begins to go towards the hot point. I left my car running to see if the fan ever turns on but unfortunately it did not and the temp gauge was at the hot point. Do i need to replace my fan. I already replaced the thermostat and it didn't help. What else could it be. Thanks
A: There is a temperature sensor switch in the cooling system which turns the fan on and off. Follow the wiring harness from the fan back and you should be able to find it. It may be in the engine or may be in the radiator. The sensor is more likely to be bad than the fan and it's a lot cheaper to replace.
Q: Will a 2008 honda Fit rim fit a 2000 civic?
Hi I just bought a 2008 honda fit wheel for my 2000 honda civic. There is a problem, front wheels fit perfectly fine but the rear one are hitting the control arm. I think its the weight of the rim hitting the rear control arms. Any thoughts how this can be fixed? or it is not possible for me to use this rim?
Both have 4x100 lug patterns, i guess its just the width thats different.
A: The wheel offset on your 2000 Civic is +45. The wheel offset on the Fit is +55. If the wheels is hitting the control arms you will want to push the wheel out toward the fender with spacers. 3-5MM spacers should work but you should take measurements to see exactly what you need.
Q: I have a 2000 Honda Civic. How do I get the "radio code" to get my stereo to work without taking it out?

Q: How do I change the headlight in a 2000 Honda Civic?
I am trying to change the headlight on my Civic and I can't figure out how to disconnect the old bulb. I have taken off the rubber sleeve and unhooked the light from the outlet. The bulb is still attached to the headlight.
A: you have to rotate the whole plastic piece and it will come out, from there when its out the bulb will come loose easily

I accidentally threw away my remote for my stock alarm on my Civic. I have the key to open my door. When I do the alarm goes off. How can I disable the alarm/security so I can drive my car again?

Q: how to change drum brakes to disc brakes on a 2000 honda civic.?
I have a 2000 honda civic EX. I have rear drum brakes and i want to convert it to discs. Can anyone tell me how i would be able to do that and can anyone also give me an estimate to how much that could cost.
I have a 2000 honda civic EX. I have rear drum brakes and i want to convert it to discs. They are NON ABS. Can anyone tell me how i would be able to do that and can anyone also give me an estimate to how much that could cost.
A: Vendor: AEM Performance Products
Part Number: PSL-29-601
Application: 1996-00 CIVIC EX
Item: Rear drum-to-disc conversion kit
$1071 Retail
And the kit will come with full instructions.
I am way off the beaten path, but I am sure you can find a Performance Shop in your area that sells AEM Performance Products and likely get it even cheaper.
And I would think that a competent garage could install this kit in 2 - 4 hours if you are not adventurous enough to install it yourself.
Assuming a labour rate of $50 per hour, you should be able to purchase this kit and have it installed for $1300 at worst.
EDIT: Additional Information
I do not normally do this but the post below mine is so incorrect that I had to say something.
Decreasing the safe stopping distance by over 50% is "No Benefit What So Ever" ?
If this was installed on every car, it would likely save tens of thousands of lives and accidents each year.
Q: What was changed from year to year between the 1996 to 2000 Honda Civic Hatchbacks?
I just wanted to know what the differences where from year to year. Im looking to buy a 96 Civic dx Hatch. But I just wanted to know what the newer models (Hatchbacks only) brought that mine didnt have. Specific changed would be great to know. Thanks!!
A: not much really. just a few refreshments like the change of lights and adding more colors for the car.
Q: How many miles is a Honda Civic 2000 SUPPOSED to run?
So here's the case.
I've got a Honda Civic Ex 2000 and I feel like i'm runnin a lot less mileage than it's supposed to do. I did a little research online and found out that the average MPG is supposed to be about 31 32ish. After doing the caculation. it's supposed to run about 308 miles for about 9.5G. But my actual mileage before the gas light comes on is about 200~215. I've been keepin track of this for the last 6 times i've filled up my tank so this should be fairly accurate.
Before I got my car, it had been sittin there for about 3 years without any proper preservation so that may be the problem... I'm wonderin if there's any way I can fix that if anyone knows? I'm totally ignorant when it comes to car stuff... So if you guys can please help me out that'll be great. If necessary, I can post up a picture of the engine so you guys can see what's up. Person providing the most useful information will get chosen. Thanks!!!
Thanks for the quick replys. I just searched online and found out that the MPG for city is 28 and 35 for highway. Combined MPG would be 30. So my estimation for the mileage should be correct. As far as driving habbit goes, sometimes i do take some heavy steps to rush through traffic, causing RPM to go above 3 and the fuel meter decrease (which eventually increases back). Is that possibly the reason why im gettin less miles? Also, does constantly switchin from neutral to D2 affect my mileage or harm my engine in anyway?
A: On many Honda models, esp the civic's, your fuel light comes on WAY early because they do not want you running out of gas. I had a 1999 Civic EX coupe and my milage varied based on where I was going. Long raod trips I have gotten just over 550 miles out of a tank of fuel, where in town with a little freeway here and there, I have gotten 2I50. I live in CA in CA and with all these environmental additves they add to fuel, it seems like it effects fuel milage. I have been getting horrible milage lately and have been for quite a few months now. I maintain my car to the max so it makes me believe it's the fuel.
Having a vehicle sit for that long, 3 years is NOT good. I would contact a dealer service dept and see what they have to say. It's a good place to start.

Q: Would white/grey/black gt3 rims look good on a 2000 Honda Civic?
So yeah? The dude is gonna sell them to me for $650 too much too little? Idk just want some rims for my car because if you've ever seen a Honda Civic 2000 with no rims it kinda looks like a fag car. So would any of these colors look good? I really want the white but idk if that will look good so your opinion?
A: yes they look the nuts on civics, rota's website actually has a civic on its main page. i would choose white but depends on your car colour, you can get them in red/green with the chrome lip and that looks great if you want the 'JDM' look. generally they look good when the car is lowered -- thay are just that style of rim, it may look a bit weird if not.
the price is ok, new they cost about £500 for a set of 16'' W/O tires. (about $850)

Q: how much will insurance be on a 2000 honda civic?
ok i just bought a 2000 honda civic for 4300! and my insurance will be going Thurugh startfarm. so i was wondering how much the estimate cost my insurance would be either full coverage or liability. im 18 years old

Q: 2000 Honda civic with obd0 motor no spark?
i took out my type r motor and put in this single cam to get rid of the car. I tired a 2000 civic ex engine harness no spark, then i changed the dizzy and nothing so i changed the plugs and the ecu and the engine harness. so now it has a 2000 si engine harness off the type r and running a 2000 si ecu and a dizzy that i know that works and still no spark wtf?
A: All your sensor wires are not going to work and line up to the correct terminals on the ECM. It would be best to put it back original with a used motor, they usually cost around $850 from Attarco.
