Q: Honda civic?
Does anyone know when you should replace shocks on a 2000 Honda Civic?

A: They don't have shocks, they have struts and they last a long time. Check them by driving down the street and see if it bounces as you drive if not then don't worry about them. If you look under the car at the strut (inside the big spring) and see any fluid running down the strut then they are leaking and have to be changed

How long (in both miles AND years) did your Honda Civic last, before having major mechanical problems? Please also indicate whether you live in a snowy area or in a place like California where the conditions favor car longevity.

A: we have a 2001 accord (basically the same as a civic) and it has 185,000 miles and counting. there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with it. we live in michigan (snow land). i'd drive it to south america tomorrow if needed. it's been such a good car to us.

Q: Will Honda Civic make it from the Midwest to Washington?
I have a 2000 Honda Civic and am planning a move from St Louis to Washington next month. I would like to just take my car and some belongings, but I worry about the car making it through the mountains. Any thoughts?

A: yes, as long as it does not have any problems mechanical problems at the moment. Just get it check out before you go on your trip. If i were you I would go to advance auto or some place like that and you can get basic stuff like the oil and the battery and other basic mechanical things like that check for no more than twenty dollar, but I doubt that its even that much.

Q: Would the honda accord or honda civic be a better used car buy?
I've heard honda accords and civics are two great reliable used cars to buy. You can find fairly new models for cheap. I've heard the accord is better then the civic in todays models but what about a 2002 or somewhere around there. Also I only have about 5000 to spend, is an accord still in that price range.

A: Alright a Accord is a few thousands more than a civic but with 5,000 the best thing to do is to look for a Honda Civic Ex not lx EX go on autotrader or go on msn and click on autos then select the year you like and can afford which you may buy a 2000-2002 Civic with 5000 cash and compare it to the accord or other cars that competes with it also if you compare it on msn sometimes they give you the wrong model trim remember ex is better because you have a faster car and a sunroof and more. Hope it works out

Q: How much is the market price of a 06 honda civic?
What is the market price of a 06 honda civic? I know kelly blue book is one way to find the market value of a car, but is there any other way I can find out the market value of a car? Also, anyone had bought a honda civic before? How much did you pay for it? Thank you!

A: It's hard to say what the market price of a Civic is, usually, you go by MSRP. I bought an '09 Civic EX for $22 out the door (taxes are high where I live).

Q: How many miles can an average honda civic go?
I'm looking for a civic and I found one with 102xxx miles on it. What's the average life span for a honda? I heard they last hella long and I just wanted to make sure. As far as I know it was very well kept and not abused. It's an 04.

A: Don't know how long they last. BUT I drive a 1997 honda civic and it has a little over 240k miles on it. I take pretty good care of it. And only now its starting to bog down a bit. But thats because I haven't been taking a good care of it lately. I'd probably can get another 150k miles before it dies on me. Any car will last a pretty long time if you take care of it.

Q: Drove with a spark plug missing in a 1996 honda civic, now it doesn't start. What is wrong with my car?
About 6 months ago my grandpa took a spark plug out of my 1996 Honda Civic and didn't tell me. I drove about 50 miles and my car just turned off. Now the car wont turn over at all. I need the car to get to school and work. What is wrong with my car and how do I fix it?

A: probably too much gas built up and no plug to burn it off. more like it floods itself.

Q: How to change 1995 Honda Civic Transmission and turn it into stick shift?
Can Anyone please give me detailed instuctions to change a 1995 Honda Civic Transmission, How to turn it into a manual Car! I know Very little about Cars So the more specific the better. Also If anyone knows The Items i will need and the cost of myself doing it verse the cost of taking it in. Please!

A: First off its not worth it to exchange it. Sell your current car and buy a manual trans car. Its very expensive and hard to do. You cant just bolt on a manual transmission. Having a mechanic do it will be even more money.
