Q: What are the difference between Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited ?
I know the trim is different, but it that it. Specifically the 2002 Grand Jeep Cherokees.

A: There are alot of upgrades on a limited. I have a computer that gives temp,direction and MPG. Some really nice aluminum cast wheels and all power accesories. Heated Mirrors and front seats are heated, auto dimmer and the list goes on. If you like that kind of stuff get it, if you don't, don't. They both have the same drive train.

Q: will a transfer case on a jeep cherokee fit on a grand cherokee?
I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4.0L it has a 231j transfer case and i wanted to know if a 231j on a 1995 Jeep Cherokee is the same?

A: Yes both transfer cases are the same. The only difference you might find is the yokes for the drive shafts. These might or might not be different.

Q: Where is the fog lamp(parking lights at the bottom of the grill) switch on a 2002 grand jeep cherokee?
I dont have the owners manual to the used 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee that i just purchased. One thing im having a problem with is trying to figure out how to turn on the factory fog lamps which are located below the front bumper. Ive tried the stem for the head lamps on the steeing wheel in every position i can think of and no luck yet....Pleeeze help

A: While I am not familiar with the dashboard controls of the Jeep, I CAN tell you how to get an owners manual. The good news is: Jeep has an owner resource website from which you can download FREE owners manuals The bad news is: The FREE ones only go back to the 2004 model year. BUT, you can order older model year (1995-2003) books from the same site. If i were you, I would order the 2002 manuals (you will probably want/need it anyway, right?) but I would also take advantage of the free download .... I am sure that the location/operation of the fog-lamp switch didn't change much between '02 and '04 ...so download the '04 manual . That will get you the info you need quickly. I'm about to buy a jeep grand cherokee but they said it misfires when first started up but it drives perfectly fine. What could this have to do with the jeep? And how much would it be to replace what needs to be fixed? They said it might be the spark plugs.

A: Misfires are tricky things, many problems can cause them. the most common is a fouled spark plug. although a bad coil or plug wire could be the culprit too. A bad or clogged injector is another simple fix. I could also be something more complicated and labor intensive, like a bad valve or cracked piston. I've seen all of these cause a misfire.

Q: My Jeep 01 Grand Cherokee is having starting problems, clicking sounds and no power when you put the key in.?
I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the issue that I am having is with starting the car. Lately it isn't getting power consistently when I try to start it. I put the key in the ignitiona nd the dash doesn't light up and the fuse box in the car and under the hood start clicking. The dash lights will flicker and the starter wont even click. Sometimes we can get it working by pushing the shifter forward (making sure it is in park) of by puching the brake down. The dash lights up then and the car starts fine. You can drive it around and runs like normal but go and shut of the engine and I could have the issue again or it may start normal.What do yu think is wrong?

A: Check you relay, either your auto shut down relay or starter and possibly the fuel pump relay. if you have to stomp down on the brake pedal it could also be the neutral safety switch located on the transmission. also check you shifter linkage, it may not be going into park fully thats why you have to play with the shifter.

A: Replace the starter solenoid on the inside fender well.

A: I have a jeep cherokee that has high mileage but to get it rebuilt you might be looking at a range of 3000.00 to 3500.00 to have it rebuilt.Or you could find a place that sells rebuilt one for a cheaper price.But then you also have the cost of the cost of having someone put it in also.I would think that it would be cheaper to lift the gas cap and put something else underneath of it.hgm20002000@yahoo.com

Q: My 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee will start but wont stay running?
My 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee will start fine but like 2 seconds later turns off. I had the problem like a day before and i gave it like 10 minutes and it started right up but the next day i wasn't so lucky. Now it will start but wont stay cranked and its been like 3 days. What should i do?

A: Try changing the fuel filter first, It's located inside of the the frame rail back by the driver's rear tire. If that doesn't help then you might be looking at a fuel pump, before you replace that though, you should check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail port on the engine, it should be around 40psi or so.

Q: Difference between Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and Rocky Mountain Edition?
Hi. I'm planning on buying a Jeep Grand Cherokee soon and couldn't decide between the Laredo and Rocky Mountain packages. I know that Rocky Mountain has some more features but was wondering whether there are any external body differences between the models. From looking at pictures, it seemed like the Rocky Mountain was a little lower to the ground than the Laredo, but I might be mistaken. Thanks in advance.

Q: Does the stock navigation on a 05 Jeep Grand cherokee work in hawaii?
I bought an 05 Jeep grand Cherokee with a stock navigation unit minus the navigation disc in here in Hawaii and nobody can give me a straight answer on if it will work. I have spoken with multiple Jeep dealers and called jeep headquarters, all with the same result. Please someone help.

A: You need the NAV disc. Most OEM systems have only the continental US states in their hard drives. Check ebay or amazon for one if you want to save yourself a few bucks.

Q: Jeep Grand cherokee Headlights turn on and off without key?
2001 Jeep grand cherokee headlights when on auto.. Car off and keys out of ignitiion after about five minutes the lights turn on and off. What can be the problem? I cant keep them on auto becasue this problem.. thanks YEs and will happen on and on all night.

A: It might be the "coming home" function. if I recall correctly. You say they stay on after you shut the truck off, and then go off after five minutes right?

A: In pieces, yes. The long way? No. But if you have a bungee cord or some ratchet straps, you could leave the rear hatch partially open, and secure it closed with the straps. Have at it chap!
