Q: mitsubishi evo?
does anyone know any alternatives to the evo X? i like the car but it looks like a box... thanks yeah, thought about the imprezza, and i agree, also looks bad i think.... ^that should say impreza

A: The Evo and Sti are the only rally inspired sports sedans on the market. They're in a class by themselves and you're not going to find another car like them. Some alternatives in varying price ranges may be: The VW R32, BMW 335 or M3, the Mazdaspeed3, or Infiniti G35 sedan.

Q: What are the diffrents between the Mitsubishi Evo?
Right now i am thinking to get a used mitsubishi EVO in 06, but i been researching a lot, i cant really tell what are the diffrents in the EVO 9, theirs MR, IX, RS, and just EVO. What are the diffrents, and is also evo VIII good???

A: the evo vIII is good but its the model down from the evo 9 The MR is - 6-speed, Bilstein monotube shocks, split seven-spoke forged aluminum BBS wheels, aluminum roof, hood, and front fenders, gauge pack, HID headlights with integrated fog lights, vortex generator, and custom MR badging. The ix just means its the evo 9 and RS is - revised 5-speed, aluminium roof, gauge pack, minimal interior, LSD and a titanium-magnesium turbine, left-hand drive option available

Q: Mitsubishi Evo ?
What do you think about this dragon !?

A: ^^ where are u gettng your information from buddy. Why wouuld a newer car be slower and less nimble?? Why put something new on the market if consumers can get the better version at a cheaper price??? There would be no point to continue the EVO series if that was the case. Look up your info better buddy on edmunds.com or something. The EVO is an outstanding performing car for its price range. It'll keep up with cars 3x its price. I have a feeling mientanance might be an issue b/c its a new model and I have heard Mitsu warranties are horrible but that might be all a lie. good luck

Q: what is the difference between 03-06 Mitsubishi evo?
Im thinking of getting a Mitsubishi evo but i don't now the difference between the years... my friend told the only difference is the turbo size... is there anything else different?

A: There are not much difference between the Evo VIII and the Evo IX. Aside from the obvious front and rear light and bumper changes, the Evo IX saw the introduction of the MIVEC engine and a slightly bigger turbo that bumped the horse power to 286 hp from 276 hp. Other than those changes, there aren't much to change in the nearly perfect piece of machinery.

Q: How much horsepower does the mitsubishi evo CT230R have?
So i have read and heard it is the fastest evo out there, can any1 tell me how much bhp is has?

A: The CT230R Evo was actually a car made in the HKS project workshop. It broke all records at the Buttonwillow tracks. It did a lap time of 1:43.523 which bested the event record of 1:48.906 also posted by an Evo. The CT230R also broke the track record of 1:48.766 posted by a Nissan Silvia. The car only weighs about 2,200 lbs and uses the 4g63 4-cylinder engine. The whole body of the car is made of light weight dry carbon. It has 550 horsepower.

Q: Is it possible to do an engine swap from a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo to a Mitsubishi Lancer ES?
Hello, i own a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer ES appx. 54,000 miles im looking for some more power but realized i couldn't put a turbo on without upgrading many things, so is it possible to swap engines from an Evo that has a turbo? What year of an Evo would fit? Someone please help!! My car is automatic also. Thanks

A: It will cost a lot. Someone on the forums invested over $20k just for parts and a donor car thats without labor. If you want power, you should just get a different car. In my honest opinion, I would use the money and get the real evo instead. Not much people would want to swap lancers to evos unless its really really a project car they like to mess around with. You also have to start researching considering you probably don't know what your going to go through. You also notice your swapping an AWD engine and tranmssion into a fwd lancer. You basically you have to do welding, custom fabrications, etc. You have to tear your car down from top to bottom and ripe out all wires and take out all the interior to bear metal(not sure about front seats though). Not only that, if your doing the swap yourself. It will take nearly a year to finish it if you have basic knowledge of cars. If you know or have some friends, maybe less than 7 months. But either way, your going to waste 20K no matter what path you take, but to save all the hassal and problems and time. Just get the real car.

Q: is there a big difference between Mitsubishi Evo 3 and later models?
I thought of buying an Evo III, and there are not much newer Evos available in my country! my question is, since all are something like 2L turbo engines, are there a big difference between newer models and the version 3? should I try to import a later model or should i buy the version 3 and do some tweaks? (import is a bit hard thing due to government regulations!) Thanks in advance!

A: The Evo 1-3 (Chassis codes CD9A and CE9A) are the lightest of all Evos, which would make it quicker off the line. 1260kg (2772lbs) in an Evo 3 GSR, compared to 1491kg (3280lbs) in a CT9A Evo 8 GSR. When it comes to power, the Evo 3 is nearly as powerful as an evo 8, the difference only being 6hp. The difference is mainly in the ECU and the later models using a slightly more efficient turbo. However, the later models suffer a heavy weight penalty, which counteracts the extra 6hp. For more information, please check out www.lancerregister.com. Q: is the Subaru impreza or the Mitsubishi evo an off road vehicle?
i heard that subaru imprza or the evo is an off roader because it was made to drive on rough area more than on road. is it true.

A: Eh, I wouldn't say that. First, they are intended to handle well on the dirt trails in the Colorado and Utah mountains while giving a great ride, comparable to SUVs. Also, these trails can still be driven on with ANY vehicle so don't think these are rock crawlers or anything of the like. The STi and Evolution are considered premium sports cars and are initially designed that way from the factory so, when in stock form, they are actually pretty crappy on the dirt trails compared to the regular AWD Subarus. In fact, road tests from magazines have shown that the REGULAR WRX is better on the trail than the stock STi. Of course, swap out the stock parts and turn it into a C Class Rally Car or something, roll cage and all, and it is more than capable of rallying on the dirt trails.

Q: do i have to service my Mitsubishi evo when i do 3000 miles every time ?
does servicing the evo cost much? how much does it cost? how long will it take to do 3000 miles if i use like a regular car? is there any evos that dosent need servicing? how olddo i have to be to own and ride a evo on road. some people say i have to be over 24 years old. please answer all the questions. i beg you.

A: Welcome to the world of $100 oil changes. Mobil 1 only. Tire rotation every oil change. $1,000 brake jobs (Still cheaper than my VW Touareg) $1,500 clutches $1200 tires. It is a relatively inexpensive car with Porsche performance And that costs.

Q: What Mitsubishi Evo X (10) would you get that is better? GSR or MR? for example if you had the chance.?

Q: How much and what parts would i need to tune a mitsubishi evo to be a 10 second car?
Which model would you say i should get, please dont tell me i dont have to money or thats stupid, just facts please!

A: My friend Dave has an Evo8 that's run a 10.9. I believe he has somewhere in the neighborhood of fifty to seventy thousand dollars into it, however. The engine is a 2.3 stroker, the transmission is a Shep Transmission, which he's broken routinely due to the torque. He's the only person Shep has seen who's bent and/or broken an input shaft AND an output shaft at the same time. Keep in mind that this is a street-driven car, with full interior and back seats. Nothing has been gutted. He could literally take four other people down the drag strip in comfort while hauling all their golf clubs in the trunk. Also bear in mind that people have achieved 10's for much less, money-wise, in the same model car. Dave just likes to have the best of everything. :) The parts needed, being very basic here: GT35 or larger turbo, all the fuel modifications to support that turbo, AEM standalone engine management, some lopey cams, large FMIC, good drag radials or slicks, excellent driving skills, and a perfect tune.

Q: What do you girls think of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X?
Tell me what you think of it, just google "mitsubishi lancer evo x"

Q: Can the Mitsubishi Lancer evo X GSR switch from AWD to RWD?
I know that the Suburu Imprezza STI can switch from AWD to RWD, is the Mitsubishi lancer evo X GSR capable of that?

A: not with out a RWD conversion kit to completely RWD but still i wouldnt do it because you will have to mod the ecu chip cuz the evo X has the active yawn control system and other things
