Q: What is the average life expectancy of a Toyota?
I'm considering purchasing a used '01 Toyota Echo-at 146k miles. This is higher than I'd hoped to find but I've heard Toyota's can be expected to run longer than your average Ford of Chevy. So my question would be-What is the average life (mileage) expectancy of a Toyota? FYI- I realize this is not the best car I could buy but I'm tight on time and money. Any other advice is appreciated.

A: If you change the oil every 3 thou miles I seen them engines go little over 300,000 miles

Q: Why is Toyota denying that the brake problem could be the electronic accelerator, and not the peddle?
It has been reported that our government is looking into the electronic failure of the Toyota accelerators as well as peddles and mats. Toyota does not want to hear this of course. This drive by wire technology replaces the normal design and relies upon electronic signals to accelerate your car instead of the standard physical connection between your foot peddle and the engine. Why is Toyota in denial again concerning this very plausible explanation?

A: Because fixing something that is mechanical such as a pedal is way, way cheaper then having to fix an electronic computer problem. What will they do, wait until many, many people die to admit the real problem?

Q: What is the best way to become Toyota mechanic to work at a Toyota dealership?
I have no mechanic experience and live near Los angeles and becoming a Toyota mechanic is my dream.

A: community colleges is the best way to go. It's a lot cheaper than technical schools & cover same amount. Also u can get associate's degree too. I'm a mechanic working for Toyota and that's how I became one. Lots of my co-workers came in here the same way. community colleges is the best way. It'll take about 2 years though but still lot less than technical school and get same training.

Q: What car is faster a toyota starlet turbo all chaved up or a lotus elise off the shelf standard?
I say lotus elise hands down but local chavs say toyota starlet turbo chav edition. I don't want to race them by the way.

A: Elise Everytime!!!!!! They Have Faster Acceleration, Better Top End And Wont Blow Up!!! Elise's Are Built For Speed/Power/Handling. A Starlet Turbo ISN'T Tuned For Power. Its A Weedy Car Made Faster. A Elise Is A Car That's Purposely Made Fast!!! Just A Little Edit: I've Read In Answers That Chavved Up Means All Kitted Out. But Most of The Chavs With Cars Where I Live, Spend Hundreds If Not Thousands Of £££'s Making It Look Good, But Actually It Goes Slow!!!! Mainly Due To The Extra Weight Added. Elises' Handle Much Better And Are Lighter And So For That Reason, Elise Is The Winner!!! Never Race Chavs...Yhoo'll Just Total Ya Car, And Tisn't Worth It --Mikey B--

Q: How much faster will the Toyota Celica GT-S go with a supercharger added to it?
What would be the horsepower and the maximum top speed. It has 160 mph on the dash but it's been tested to hit 135mph but no more because of the governor on the engine. It's horsepower is 180. How much increase in horsepower and top speed am I looking at if I buy a supercharger for the 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S?

A: That's similar to a RSX type S. And on a RSX type S I think if super charged/ turbo'd it can reach up to 290 Horse power.

Q: What is the best way to control an out of control Toyota? What do you think is the cause of Toyota's going out?
What is the best way to control an out of control Toyota? What do you think is the cause of Toyota's going out of control?

A: Remove your foot from the gas pedal. Serious pull both feet back and then apply the brakes with your LEFT FOOT ONLY!!!! One thing the State Controlled Media has faled to report is how many of the so-called victims are RIGHT FOOT BRAKERS. This is just the worst way to drive an automatic and obviously leads to these kinds of incidents. Q: When did toyota start having accelerator problems?
I have a 1995 toyota corolla and I'm wondering if its at risk of having the same problems being reported to toyota.

A: Not to worry with your car. On older cars like yours you pressed on the accelerator pedal with your foot. A steel cable attached to the pedal pulled on a throttle plate. you would feel resistance in your foot coming from spring load from the throttle plate as well as negative pressure (vacuum) created by the engine. Without going too technical on you, the system has been changed. It is no longer MECHANICAL LINKAGE (STEEL CABLE) as that has been replaced by a computerized system to regulate how much fuel and gas come into the engine, depending on how much you push. But with the new system there would be no resistance in your pedal foot. So Toyota, in order to give you the sensation of pressing harder as you are used to on previous cars, installed a friction device to do so. Your 95 Corolla is a legend. In my expert opinion, arguably the best built, most reliable vehicle ever built. The rust will kill it before any mechanical failures. I drove one almost 500,000 km and gave it away 5 years ago. It is still on the road today, with a friend.

Q: How soon will I receive an updated car registration title from Toyota?
I recently, mid October, finished paying off my car loan payments to Toyota finance and am about to sell my vehicle. I would like to give the updated car registration title that does not have the lender on it. I have called Toyota finance and the Toyota dealership that I bought it from and have not had a single answer.

A: You do not get a registration or title from any private company. You get them only from the government. First, you must get a document from Toyota finance releasing the lien. Then, you take that document and your current registration, etc., to the government agency that issues titles, registration, etc., and exchange the old documents for new title, registration, etc.

Q: How do you know if your toyota echo 2000 has power steering?
I bought a used toyota echo and the steering wheel is a lil tight, so I'm trying to figure out if it is power steering maybe it needs something. Or if it isn't power steering, could someone tell me how I can loosen the wheel up?

A: What car doesn't have power steering these days? Look under the hood. The power steering pump has a pulley and a fluid reservoir on it. If the belt is missing, or it doesn't have fluid in it, it won't work. Worn out tires make steering feel heavy. Make sure the tires are properly inflated too. Low tires make the steering hard.
